My husband and I bought a house with a kitchen that needed some work. The cabinets were new but the flooring was linoleum and the countertops were particle board covered with a fake wood laminate that curved up into a backsplash. The worst part was that the countertops and the cabinets were both a honey wood color but different shades making it look like someone tried to match and failed. He took a rectangular sheet of decorative tile pieces and rearranged them to make square tiles which he interlaid between solid tiles.
